Acheulean tradition
The toolmaking tradition of Homo erectus in Africa Europe and Southwest Asia in which handaxes were developed from the earlier Oldowan chopper.

The technique of stone tool manufacture performed by striking the raw material with a bone or antler "baton" to remove flakes.

Hypoglossal canal
The opening in the skull through which the tongue-controlling hypoglossal nerve passes.
