1. Access the website of the Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands at http://www.darwinfoundation.org and answer the following questions: What's so special about the Galapagos? Why did Darwin call them 'a nursery of new species?' What is the Foundation and what kinds of research are being conducted here?
   
   
2. Investigate the website of Genome Canada at http://www.genomecanada.ca/GCgenomeCanada/enBref/index.asp?l=e  and answer the following questions. What are the objectives of Genome Canada? How will they accomplish these goals? Compare these goals to the Human Genome project, located at http://www.ornl.gov .
   
   
3. Visit the Genome Education site at http://www.genomeeducation.ca/ and familiarize yourself with what Genomics means. Write an essay exploring one of the topics like ‘Genomics and Health’ or ‘Genomics and Ethical Issues’.
